Day Merrill, Founder and Principal of 2BDetermined Inc., is a career and organizational management professional with expertise in coaching, training and consulting.

Day has extensive experience coaching self-sponsored clients looking to transition to a higher level in an organization, conduct a search for a new opportunity or develop leadership competencies.
She also delivers a range of organizational services including leadership development, individual and team coaching, organizational change and transition and team building, communications, conflict resolution and performance management support.
Since 2010, Day has provided career management support to over 400 participants and alumni/ae of the Executive MBA program at Western University’s Ivey Business School.
Prior to 2BDetermined, Day held senior roles at a number of human capital management firms in Canada and the US and was Career Services Manager at a Canadian non-profit. Before relocating to Canada, Day co-founded a career firm in New York and served as Associate Director of the MBA program at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Her first career was secondary school teacher/administrator.
A frequent speaker, Day has presented on career topics for a wide variety of audiences and was selected as the on-site Career Coach for the 2017 Alpha and Gender Diversity conference in Toronto, a Woman in Investment Management event sponsored by the CFA Institute. As a 360° Debriefer for Thomson Reuters, Day supported the development of Thomson Reuters leaders throughout Canada, the US and Asia. Day has also written on career issues for a number of publications including the Business column for Women With Vision magazine.
Education & Training
Day holds a BA from Connecticut College, a Master of Arts from Wesleyan University and is a graduate of Coach U’s professional coaching program. She is active in the International Coach Federation, the Association of Career Professionals and the Human Resources Professional Association, where she has taught Organizational Behaviour in the CHRP program. Day recently completed training through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute and is a Certified Lifecycle Celebrant, helping clients celebrate life transitions through ceremony and ritual.
Day is an avid reader and writer with a growing collection of published poems. A certified Yoga instructor and committed dancer, Day is active in her local expressive arts community where she DJ’s dance events. She lives in Collingwood with husband and fellow coach Michael Locey, her partner in life and work. They share their village century home with a rescue cat and dog and the occasional bunny and raccoon.
