Suzette Henry started her career in the fashion industry both is sales and merchandising, followed by manufacturing, where she became and expert in sourcing textiles, knits and communicating with vendors at Guess Apparel. She later specialized in denim and opened the first of several material libraries. During her time at Nike – spanning 11 years – she created the first Material Design role and opened Jordan’s first material library. As the Material Designer for Jordan, her work focused on integrating exclusive Color & Materials in hierarchy product encouraging partnership for the Brand.
Currently she is the Material Director of the MLab a unique Material resource she founded for Pensole Design school – the only footwear specific design school in North America. She continues to mentor and create educational opportunities to future Pensole students, and design professionals who want to empower their current role, as well as Consulting through a Color, Material, Design lens.
