2016: A Year in Review

There is no moving forward without taking the time to look back. As we begin to embark on a new journey in 2017, we’re excited to take the time to remember the past year.
Our Year in Review infographic highlights some of our favourite moments of 2016, and provides us with a map of some our incredible accomplishments. These accomplishments all act as reminders of challenges overcome and moments of growth. They are also a reminder of how strong we are when we work together – the endless support we’ve received from Lean In Canada members and volunteers has been pivotal to our growth.
These accomplishments are also the catalyst to our new goals. We look forward to going beyond our expectations this year, and we have some big plans to support this growth. We hope that our upcoming endeavours will further propel you on your journeys in career and leadership, and that we can continue working together to elevate each other.

Regional Leaders Participants Lean In Canada is selected as a pilot participant the Regional Leaders program presented by LeanIn.Org.

Workplace Harassment Panel Hena Singh and Clare Freeman provide must-know information and useful tips about workplace harassment.

Women in the Workplace Event We observed Women’s History Month with Vandana Juneja and Emanuela Heyninck and discussed opportunity and equality in the workplace.
April
Lean In Canada’s Birthday We celebrated our third year anniversary on April 19, and surpassed 2,800 members.

Are You Branded for Business? Cher Jones taught us the fundamentals of using social media to foster a personal brand.
June
Board of Directors Announcement Our Board of Directors is finalized and made up of talented and passionate members of our community.
July
Find Your Career Wingwomen We held a sold-out networking event at The Spoke Club patio and encouraged members to mingle like never before.
August
Regional Leaders Conference Lean In Canada attended the 2nd annual Lean In Regional Leaders Conference in Palo Alto, hosted by Sheryl Sandberg.

Starting a Lean In Circle Webinar We hosted our very first webinar and walked through the basics of leading a Lean In Circle.
October
Lean In Canada New Logo Our new, proudly-Canadian logo made its debut.
November
Personal Message from Justin Trudeau We got a message of support from Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, to kick off our #MenLeanIn event.
