Event Roundup: Networking – How to Become the Most Interesting Person in the Room
The Round-Up | July 27, 2017

Lean In Canada’s Vancouver Chapter welcomed an energetic group to its Annual Summer Social at Mahony & Sons at the Vancouver Convention Centre overseeing the beautiful Vancouver Harbour. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and attendees were pumped to engage in a lively discussion led by Z94.5 Radio Host, Nira Arora (@niraarora).
As a TV personality, blogger and veteran in the broadcasting world, Nira shared several simple, but powerful, techniques with over 100 attendees, and needless to say, her natural sense of humour charmed the crowd quickly. Members jumped at the chance to ask Nira questions, which turned her discussion into an engaging Q&A not only about Nina’s professional perspective but also about her ability to devote time to her family life as well. During the networking hour, everyone was encouraged to go home with at least one coffee date set up with a new friend – and it was great to see attendees apply Nira’s tips and suggestions right away!
Lean In exists to help build valuable lasting relationships, so we were very excited to welcome newcomers but also see a lot of friendly faces from our previous events. It goes without saying that we are grateful for and empowered by all the support since the inception of the Vancouver Chapter.
We are taking a break in August, but we will be back in full force in September with an event on how to establish your personal brand. Details to be determined, but you can anticipate another sold out event!
