CALGARY: Allies for Change
Online with Zoom
July 16, 2020What would change look like to you?
The world has been rocked by violence against the black community in the U.S., and Canada is not exempt. Violence, exclusion, and suppression of racialized communities are far from new, but we are finally seeing a focus on systemic change. For the system to shift, we all have work to do.
What is the work? How do we talk about it? How can we make a difference? How do we become allies for change?
Join Lean In | Calgary for a vulnerable conversation with Lana Bentley, a thought-leader, provocateur, and a self-declared woman of colour working with vulnerable populations at YW Calgary.
We’ll look at the idea of “allyship”, how it is earned, the role the ally can play in the workplace, and how Lean In | Calgary can authentically engage as a network of allies evoking meaningful change in our own city.
Join us from the comfort of your own home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on July 16. This is a free event.
