Making women look and feel beautiful on their special day has long been a passion of Toronto native Rita Vinieris. Born and raised in Canada, she went to University of Toronto where she studied Economics. Yet, her dream was to do something in design. She later went to study fashion at the International Academy of Design. In 1995, using her skills as an opportunity to breathe new life into bridal wear, Vinieris began to design a collection of wedding dresses which is now an international preeminent luxury bridal brand, RIVINI. In 2009 she launched Alyne a second bridal collection in a way for a greater number of women to enjoy her couture-like aesthetic; sophisticated ease with effortless glamour and chic silhouettes in rich fabrics, energized by refreshing design details for a strong fashion statement. Her inspiration comes from her love of beauty, life and desire to maintain a focus on luxury fabrics, architectural draping and meticulous fit.

Prior to creating Rivini and Alyne, Rita Vinieris worked as a designer for an evening dress company for 6 years, freelanced as a designer for Izod Lacoste Mens Canada, designed furs for the Japanese market and later was a design coordinator for Fairweather. After 17 years designing one of the preeminent luxury Bridal Collections, RIVINI and Vinieris turned her focus on the debut of her first Eveningwear Collection. Vinieris is determined to make each woman’s special occasion unforgettable. “I love being able to help women find that perfect dress that expresses their personal style.” Vinieris has been honoured with many industry awards: 2002 New Designer of the Year, 2006 Best Ad Campaign of the Year, and 2007 Best Ad Campaign of the Year.

Creating from a blank slate and always searching for newness in design, Rita Vinieris now wields her mastery from day to night. Fluid silhouettes and meticulous attention to detail have long been designer Rita Vinieris’ understated signature. Vinieris infuses her Collections with a sense of light-handed charm. It’s feeling born of sublime luxury and low-key ornamentation. Subtle finishing touches include soft tucks and pleats, understated beading, sheer panels of fabric, a beguiling illusion, and a variety of couture techniques and styles.
